Race or Play with authentic style

205 Hours and 100% complete!

CTB-1 Standard White Deck and Hull: $424.95
CTB-1 Custom Color* Deck and Hull: $449.95

Designed for all out competition our CTB-1 features the hull based on our record setting Stingray Hydro hull. The CTB-1 has been modeled under IMPBA and NAMBA rules to be competition legal under these sanctioned race events. We loosely based this design on the full size Valu-mart and Schweppes hydros raced in the 60s featuring a french-cut nose. We are sure you will not only dominate the racing field with sheer performance, but with authentic scale appearence also. Many accessories are available to make your CTB-1 look like its full size counterpart. This first boat in our Classic Thunderboat series will include one of two rear wings of your choice.

Note: Due to the high demand of this model, as of 4/28/08 we are roughly 3-4 weeks behind and urge you to put orders in promptly so you can have your own CBT-1 for this season. At this time the hull only is available. Ready to Run CTB-1 production should start in early June. If you are using this oat for competition purposes, the rules are clear as follows:

Engine choice must be Zenoah G260PUM as purchased out-of-box with the only modification permitted, a WT257 Carb. We will offer two legal race engines, with or without clutch. Tuned pipe with silencer is also mandatory for competition use. All race legal engines will be identified with a CTBRL product number. For those who want to build a custom Classic Thunderboat where the sky is the limit, we recommend our popular M5 engine that will push this boat upwards of 60MPH.

A couple of months ago we recieved a phone call from one of our dealers in Washington state named Gary Rose. Gary purchases Enforcer boats and products for his son and his hobby shop. Gary owns and operates our Stingray hydro and is thrilled by the performance of that model. He called to make Tony aware of a new class of competition gas boats called Classic Thunderboats and how he thought the Stingray hull could be easily modified to resemble a few of the original full size classic hydros of the day. He sent Tony many pictures showing the growth of the class and the beautiful boats that the competitors are building and running.

After doing some research, Tony was thrilled to see this new class and how large its becoming, along with the quality and workmanship that are put into these models. This class is recognized by both santioning bodies; IMPBA and NAMBA. Great rules and guidelines have been made to keep this class affordable and pure.

Normally we are not hasty to produce a new boat at the drop of a hat, but in this case we see an exciting class that as far as we are concerned is in its infant stages of becoming a widely recognized quality class of radio control model boat racing and we will be proud to be a part of it. Here is a link to the official rules and regulations for IMPBA and NAMBA Classic Thunderboat racing:
    Classic Thunderboat Rules

The boat is the first of our series of Classic Thunderboats by Warehouse Hobbies specifically designed to legally compete in this class sanctioned by both NAMBA and IMPBA. This hull is based on our popular Stingray hydro that was designed from our IMPBA record setting boat back in 1997. Currently in design, pattern, and molding stages this Classic Thunderboat features a french cut shovelnose similar to both the Schweppes and Valu-Mart boat capaigned in the 1960s. The boat is 50" long and 25" wide and is between 1/7th and 1/8th scale likeness to the real boat.

Tony designed this hull not only for strait away speeds, but also high speed cornering with a unique three point planing surface. This boat will be available as hull only (including stringers) and also Ready to Compete. We invite you to take a look at our work in progress, including patterns and mold preparation. The projected date for completion and pre-production manufacturing is late April 08.

Updated 4/21/08, Heading for the finish line!

The final stages of preparing the hatch male (plug) is upon us, and we hope to have the first layer of glass on it by the end of the day. This is a good thing because both Greg and I are getting pretty tired of rubbing on it and looking at it. Notice the color change, now orange represents the hard tooling gel that was applied over the grey polymer primer. This is the most time consuming part of the tooling process, as it requires sanding a hard orange peel sprayed finish into a scratch-free mirriored finish. The first complete set of 3 molds should be ready by this weeks end which would give us the ability to a produce limited amount of boats untill more molds can be made. If you have not ordered your Enforcer Classic Thunderboat Hydro, please be aware that we have pre-sold over one dozen.
